What to start with

My children are want to know why
Why would people invade the homes of others
Their communities
Their synagogues
Their backyards
On one of the happiest days of the year
And cause so much pain
To so many?

I want to know how
We can heal from all this
Join hands together
And be strong
Lift each other up
When all our hearts are breaking
Together

I know that we don’t have to have
All the answers
But like we did this morning
When saying Tehillim and watching the pictures
Of all those affected
We can hold hands
Sit together
Put our arms around each other
Let’s start with that
And turn this pain around
With love and connection

Those are the only answers I can think of right now
That’s what I told my children
That we can stick together
Do mitzvos
And pray
Hold hands
Lift each other up
