This poem was inspired by the song, “Yoter Gadol Mizeh” by Matt Dub and Shmuel; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWkD8H1jPtM&t=5s
Hashem is much greater than we think
For he views the world from way up high
And sees us all from his vantage point
As he’s been doing from the beginning of time
Until now
And will continue to do so
For eternity
He orchestrated the exodus from Egypt
The splitting of the sea
The survival of a nation in the desert
The victories in battle during that time
And their celebratory entry into their homeland
And from his place on high
Wherever that may be
We must remember that he is greater than
All our challenges
Our troubles
He brought our grandparents out of Auschwitz
Helped us settle into our land
Form an army to defend ourselves
Spread out in the diaspora
He is even greater than all that
So when we find ourselves in mourning
For those we have lost
When we scratch our heads wondering how people can turn into monsters or angels
We just must continue to remember
Where we are
Where he is
So much greater than all this
And that one day hopefully very soon
When we are granted a glimpse of what he sees
It will all become clear to us
We will have no more questions
His greatness will fill the world
Leaving no doubt in our minds
That he has been greater, is in that state right now, and will always be
